2011 Lake Tahoe Triathlon

The Lake Tahoe Triathlon kicks off today from September 23-25.  This one of a kind 3 Day Triathlon offers 3 levels of distance and competition for the challengers.

The Triathletes can choose from one of the 3 competitive distances or can pick 3 events a la carte or just compete in the individual events.  The Lake Tahoe Triathlon also offers Kayak or Swim with several distance options.

Friday, September 23 -- Kayak or Swim Events

7:15 AM - Emerald Bay Marathon starts at Emerald Bay to Spooner Lake

7:15 AM - Emerald Bay Half Marathon starts at Emerald Bay to Lakeside Beach at Stateline, CA

9 AM - Kayak 5 miles starts at Lakeside Beach at Lakeside Park at Stateline, CA

10 AM - Swim 2.5 miles, a mile, or half mile…

2011 AMGEN Tour of California - Stage 1 at Lake Tahoe

UPDATE: May 15, 2011 2:41 PM - *CANCELLED* - Stage 1 Lake Tahoe is cancelled due to severe snow conditions.

Lake Tahoe is ready for the AMGEN Tour of California, the largest cycling event in America.  This Tour de France style road race cycling brings together the world's top cycling teams to compete in this year's eight stage race.

Cinco de Mayo at Chevys in South Lake Tahoe

We had a blast at Chevys for Cinco de Mayo! Originally, I was thinking we stay home and have dinner, but then I realized that it was Cinco de Mayo - so off we went to Chevys in South Lake Tahoe.

It was very festive and very busy. They had these $2 shots that people couldn't resist including us. They were giving out bright beaded necklaces and miniature Corona ponchos for the beer bottles. They were also giving out raffle tickets for prizes.

They even had a margarita drinking contest. So, my cousin, Justin Toa with Useadeal (a daily deal website business), who's visiting us from Seattle I convinced him to enter the contest. They were looking for 11 people for the contest and they had to drink…

The Night Life in Tahoe City at Lake Tahoe

Ok, we really don't get to go out for late night events since we have three kids, but since our good friend Lucas Rodenbush was djing up in Tahoe City at Lake Tahoe last Saturday we went up to support him.

Lucas who goes by E.B.E. professionally is in the underground dance music industry.  He's put out many records through various labels since 1995 and has djed all over the US and the World.  With that being said, it worked out well that he was visiting us and picked up a gig to dj up in Tahoe City, so off we went.

Going to Tahoe City that night was also an adventure in itself.  We live in South Lake Tahoe, so normally we would go around West Shore to Tahoe City which would have taken about 50 minutes…
